NOTES:

The follow-up to ”Gongs and Bamboos” by avant-garde composer/professor José Maceda featuring some of his most ambitious large scale works.

José Maceda is known for his deep devotion to understanding and innovating Filipino traditional music. His field recordings comprises a vast collection of native Filipino music and language. In Drone and Melody, Maceda utilized Western instruments and traditional Filipino sounds which resulted in unconventional musical style, perfectly blurring the structure and concept between Asian indigenous music and Western context.

(I know this is too much for PinoyAlbums whose listeners prefer ”pop” and commercially accessible music, but this is just for educational purposes only, for people who want to broaded their mind about obscure music.)
