Purple Saturn Radio: Synthwave Philippines Vol. 1

NOTE:

Synthwave is a distinctly modern music genre that features heavy synthesizer sounds. Largely inspired by the charm of 80s pop culture, particularly arcade games, technology, anime, movies and film soundtracks, synthwave takes its listeners to a futuristic setting that feels strange and yet familiar.

This playlist combines the atmosphere of synthwave with the lively mood of synthpop, complementing dramatic melodies and dark sci-fi undertones of some tracks. Although synthwave in PH is rare, this collection proves there is real appreciation for retrowave in the country.

PS: The radio name is derived from an obscure space-themed sports game published by Epyx in 1989 called Purple Saturn Day. Credits to the owner of the image.
