When local bands exploded in Cebu during the mid-2000s, Bisrock was all the rage but indie and underground acts were also everywhere.

Hastang, formed in 2005, emerged from this bubble of overlapping scenes. Known for their heavy alt-rock sound, blending aggression, melody and lyrical depth, they recorded an album and released the singles ”Oblivion” and ”Random” which became favorites on a local radio’s alternative charts at that time.

A music video for Oblivion was also made and is available on YouTube. It’s a song that won them first runner-up in the finals of a band showdown held in SM City Cebu.
