”PHAR LAP” is a collection of 7 tracks from Kuya Neil & BAYANG (tha Bushranger) – the result of numerous studio sessions between 2021-2025. Recorded between Sydney, Melbourne and Manila, it spans across a plethora of genres and musical movements archiving the pair’s free experimentation within the bounds of un-Australian underground hip-hop.

Although the namesake of the release was a thoroughbred, ”PHAR LAP” the tape is a mongrel mix of BAYANG’s forward-thinking gutter rap with Kuya Neil’s hybrid club production, bound by a shared love of left-field samples, baile funk, guitar driven punk and a freeform, anything-goes approach to collaboration.

A love letter to doing-it-yourself, to the melting pot, and to the ’Flash in the Sky’ killed for running too fast.
