TrashKonsumer: The Axel Pinpin Propaganda Machine (2010) is composed of band members Axel Pinpin (spoken word), Rojo Mabilin (guitar, synth and sampler), Jingo Tamayao (guitar), Migoy Gamara (bass) and Lon Caacbay (drums). Throughout the band’s history of collaborating with other musicians and activists, TAPPM creates music that blends post-punk, post rock and alternative rock. Its backbone is the eponymous front man’s poetry, which speaks of how workers, peasants, and the Filipino majority incessantly suffer from poverty and injustice under the current social conditions. Pinpin, a peasant organizer and ex-political detainee, has been writing poetry since his college years and has already published a few poetry books.
